NGC 5367 is a reflection nebula associated with the cometary globule CG12 (other CGs are for example CG2, CG4, vdB 152 and GN 16.43.7.01). CG12 "starts" at the image and extends to the upper left for more than 1°. CG12 was dicovered in 1976 on an ESO/SRC Sky Survey plate taken with the UK Schmidt telescope. In contrast to most other CGs CG12 exists at a place in the Milky way far away from the galactic disk - it has a galactic latitude of more than 21°.

The two bluish stars responsible for the light reflected by the nebula are the double star h4636 (spectral type B4 and B7). Some interesting infos about NGC 5367 and CG12 can be found here and here for example.

NGC 5367 ist ein Reflexionsnebel, der mit der kometarischen Globule CG12 assoziiert ist (andere Beispiele für kometarische Globulen sind  CG2, CG4, vdB 152 und GN 16.43.7.01). CG12 "startet" auf dem Bild und dehnt sich in Richtung Oben Links um mehr als 1° aus. CG12 wurde 1976 auf einer ESO/SRC Durchmusterungs-Platte, die mit dem UK Schmidt Teleskop gemacht wurde, entdeckt. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen CG existiert CG12 weit weg von der galaktischen Scheibe - sie hat eine galaktische Breite von mehr als 21°.

Die beiden bläulichen Sterne, die für das vom Nebel reflektierte Licht verantwortlich sind, sind der Doppelstern h4636 (Spektraltyp B4 und B7). Einige interessante Infos über NGC 5367 und CG12 befinden sich z.B. hier und hier.
