The cometary globule of this image can be found in the Atlas of Galactic Nebulae (Neckel, Th., Vehrenberg, H. 1985: Atlas Galaktischer Nebel Teil I bis III, Teil III Page 144 top). It is about 2° away from ζ-Scorpii (ζ =Zeta). The surface brightness of the Ha- region around the globule is very low - maybe one of the reasons why this beautiful region is not imaged more often. Die kometare Globule auf diesem Bild ist im Atlas galaktischer Nebel zu finden (Neckel, Th., Vehrenberg, H. 1985: Atlas Galaktischer Nebel Teil I bis III, Teil III Seite 144 oben). Sie befindet sich etwa 2° von ζ-Scorpii (ζ=Zeta) entfernt. Die Oberflächenhelligkeit der Ha-Region um die Globule ist recht niedrig - vielleicht ein Grund, warum dieses schöne Gebiet nicht häufiger photographiert wird. Eine Aufnahme eines größeren Feldes um IC 4628, auf der auch GN 16.43.7.01 zu sehen ist, befindet sich hier. Das Bild wurde mit Hilfe von CCD-Sharp und Digital Development (DDP) bearbeitet. |
