Image shot in Namibia. Astro-Physics 105mm-Refractor Traveler f=600mm. Exposure time 75 min. on Kodak Ektacolor Pro Gold 400 (medium format). North is up.

In addition to IC 4628 (above the image center) the open cluster NGC 6231 can be seen just below IC 4628 - one of the most beautifull open clusters in the sky. The not so well known open clusters NGC 6268 and NGC 6242 can be found near the upper edge of the image and last but not least the globule GN 16.43.7.01 is loacated on the right edge of the image. A detailed view of this globule, done with Ganymed at f=1800mm, can be found  here.

Neben dem Gasnebel IC 4628 oberhalb der Bildmitte fällt darunter einer der schönsten offenen Sternhaufen des Südhimmels, NGC 6231 auf. Außerdem sind oberhalb des Nebels die beiden weniger prominenten offenen Haufen NGC 6268 und NGC 6242 und rechts am Rand noch die Globule GN 16.43.7.01, von der es hier eine Aufnahme mit Ganymed bei f=1800mm gibt,  zu sehen.
