The image above (North is at 2:30) was taken on August, 23rd 2006 in parallel to the L exosures of M74 with a Takahashi FSQ 106 (106mm/530mm), which was mounted piggyback on Ganymed. A Hutech modified DSLR Canon 20D was used. 18 exposures (5 minutes each) were taken (internal dark substraction). The fact, that the comet 4P/Faye was on the image is mere chance. After taking the exposures and searching the internet it became clear, what we have "hit". For the image above the comet (which clearly moved from one exposure to the next - see animation at the right) was stacked seperatly. This summed image was fit into the main image afterwords. The bright star above the comet is η Pisces, the 7th brightes star of this constellation (Mag 3.6).

Das Bild oben (Norden ist bei 2:30) wurde am 23. August 2006 mit einem Takahashi FSQ 106 (106mm/530mm), das "huckepack" auf Ganymed montiert war, parallel zu den L-Aufnahmen von M74 gemacht. Als Kamera diente eine Hutech modifizierte Canon 20D. Es wurden 18 Aufnahmen á 5 Minuten addiert (interner Darkabzug). Dass der Komet 4P/Faye auf den Aufnahmen war, ist reiner Zufall. Erst nach den Aufnahmen und Suche im Internet wurde klar, was wir da "erwischt" hatten. Für das Bild oben wurde der Komet (der sich während der Aufnahmen deutlich bewegte - siehe rechts) einzeln gestacked. Dieses Summenbild wurde dann in das Summenbild der Umgebung montiert. Bei dem hellen Stern oberhalb des Kometen handelt es sich um  η Pisces, den mit 3.6 Mag siebthellsten Stern im Sternbild Fische.
