Remarks:

The Helix Nebula is apparently one of the largest planetary nebulae in the sky and is closer to us than any other nebula in its class at a distance of only about 650 light years. In this deep image, faint extensions are visible across a field that is significantly larger than the full moon.

Bemerkungen:

Der Helixnebel gehört zu den scheinbar größten Planetarischen Nebeln am Himmel und steht uns mit nur ca. 650 Lichtjahren Entfernung näher als alle anderen Nebel seiner Klasse. In dieser tiefen Aufnahme finden sich schwache Ausläufer über ein Feld deutlich größer als der Vollmond.
