The image shows the central part of a highly complex nebula area, only some degrees south east to the famous Eta Carinae Nebula. For the abbr. "RCW" see RCW 42. Allthough the object was only 52° above the horizon during the exposure, the resulting image is the sharpest shot with Ganymed so far. Die Aufnahme zeigt den Zentralteil eines sehr komplexen Nebelareals, wenige Grad südöstlich des berühmten Eta Carinae-Nebels. Zur Abkürzung RCW siehe RCW 42. Obwohl das Objekt zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt nur max. 52° über dem Horizont stand, entstand die bisher schärfste Deep Sky-Aufnahme mit Ganymed. Eine Übersichtsaufnahme, die nahezu das komplette Gebiert von RCW 57 umfasst, ist hier zu finden. Das Bild wurde mit Hilfe von CCD-Sharp bearbeitet. |
