Remarks:

C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) is a non-periodic comet (orbital eccentricity 1.0015) discovered in May 2025 by the Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS). On the evening of August 17, 2025, its apparent magnitude was about 10.5.
The comet will reach perihelion on October 8, 2025. At that time, however, it will be farther from Earth than it was at the time of the image and therefore not observable from Earth. After its closest approach to the Sun, C/2025 K1 will reappear in the morning sky, decreasing its distance from Earth through late November before receding into the outer reaches of the solar system.

Bemerkungen:

C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) ist ein nicht-periodischer Komet (Bahnexzentrizität 1.0015) und wurde im Mai 2025 vom Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) entdeckt. Am Abend des 17.8.2025 betrug die Helligkeit etwa 10.5 mag.
Der Komet wird am 8. Oktober 2025 sein Perihel durchlaufen, dann allerdings weiter von der Erde entfernt sein als zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme und von der Erde nicht beobachtbar sein. Nach der größten Annäherung an die Sonne taucht C/2025 K1 dann wieder am Morgenhimmel auf, wird seine Entfernung zur Erde bis Ende November verkleinern und danach in den Tiefen des Sonnensystems verschwinden.
