Remarks:

NGC 5701 is a barred spiral galaxy that we observe face-on. Our image clearly shows the central bar of the galaxy. This bar is surrounded by a ring with a distinct bluish hue, indicating active star formation. Notably, the galaxy appears to lack a well-defined disk, as seen in other galaxies. This gives NGC 5701 its unique appearance.

Bemerkungen:

NGC 5701 ist eine Balkenspiralgalaxie, die wir in der Draufsicht (face-on) sehen. Unsere Aufnahme zeigt den zentralen Balken der Galaxie sehr deutlich. Dieser ist von einem Ring umgeben, der eine auffällige bläuliche Färbung aufweist – ein Hinweis auf aktive Sternentstehung. Auffällig ist das Fehlen eines ausgeprägten Scheibenkörpers, wie wir ihn von anderen Galaxien kennen. Dies verleiht NGC 5701 ein einzigartiges Erscheinungsbild.
