Remarks: |
The Fornax galaxy cluster is one of the closest galaxy
clusters to our Local Group. The most conspicuous galaxies in this cluster
are the lenticular galaxy NGC 1399 and the beautiful barred spiral NGC 1365
in the lower right part of the image. The Fornax galaxy cluster is about 70 million light years away. The lenticular galaxy NGC 1316 has an active nucleus and is one of the most prominent radio sources in the sky: Fornax A. |

Bemerkungen: |
Bildteil. |
