Remarks:

If a galaxy group has a proper name, such as Stephan’s Quintet or Copeland’s Septet, you might have certain expectations, but you’ll be a bit disappointed with Zwicky’s Triplet (= Arp 103 upper right) - this galaxy group is simply too small. However, the triplet appears twice: again as Zwicky’s Triplet, but this time as Arp 175 in the constellation Virgo. More interesting to us was the discovery of the long but very faint stellar stream arch extending northward from the centrally located NGC 6241 and the striking Vorontsov-Velyaminov sequence (bending galaxy arms) of UGC 10586 at the bottom left.

Bemerkungen:

Hat eine Galaxien-Gruppe einen Eigennamen, so wie Stephans Quintett oder Copelands Septett darf man schon etwas erwarten, wird aber bei Zwickys Triplett (= Arp 103 oben rechts) etwas enttäuscht - zu klein ist dieses Ensemble. Dafür gibt es das Triplett doppelt, nämlich ebenso als Zwickys Triplett, dann aber als Arp 175 im Sternbild Virgo. Interessanter für uns war die Entdeckung des langen, aber sehr schwachen Sternstrom-Bogens nach Norden bei der mittig stehenden NGC 6241 und die auffällige Vorontsov-Velyaminov-Reihung (abknickende Galaxienarme) bei UGC 10586 unten links.
