Star trails in west direction seen from Capella Observatory. In the middle the bright milky way clouds near the galactic center. The southern pole is at the left edge of the image. At the right edge some light pollution from Windhoek, mainly caused by the smoke of some bush fires a few days before the exposure. The red wavy trail was caused by an exhausted future observer on his way to the restaurant of the lodge while the exposure was running;-) . The image was taken during the installation of Ganymed before the Namibian first light image.

Strichspur Richtung Westen aus dem Capella-Observatorium. In der Mitte oben die helle Milchstraßenwolke beim galaktischen Zentrum, links der südliche Himmelspol, rechts das Streulicht von Windhoek in der nach mehreren Buschfeuern durch Staub getrübten Atmosphäre. Die wellenförmige rote Spur gehört zur Taschenlampe eines erschöpften zukünftige Beobachters auf dem Weg zum Restaurant der Lodge ;-) .
Das Bild wurde noch vor dem Namibischen First-Light-Image während der Installation von Ganymed aufgenommen.
