NGC 2736 is the south east branch of the Vela SNR, a relict of a star explosion 12000 years ago. Discovered at the end of the 18th century by Wilhelm Herschel the true nature of this filigree nebula became clear in the mid of the 20th century. A primary focus version of the Pencil Nebula can be found here. CCDSharp was used for sharpening. |

NGC 2736 ist der südöstlichste Ausläufer des Vela SNR, Überbleibsel einer 12000 Jahre zurück liegenden Sternexplosion. Entdeckt Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts von Wilhelm Herschel wurde die wahre Natur dieses filigranen Nebels erst Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts geklärt. Eine Primärfokusaufnahme des Pecil-Nebels ist hier zu finden. CCDSharp wurde zum Schärfen benutzt. |
