Remarks:

NGC 772 (Arp 78) is an SA(s)b galaxy at a distance of 115 million light years. With an extent of 240,000 x 144,000 Ly. it clearly surpasses our galaxy in size. In this deep image there are also faint galaxy extensions up to almost twice the 240,000 Ly., which interact with three small companion galaxies, north of the galaxy nucleus.

Bemerkungen:

NGC 772 (Arp 78) ist eine SA(s)b-Galaxie in 115 Mill. Lichtjahren Entfernung. Mit einer Ausdehnung von 240.000 x 144.000 Lj. übertrifft sie unsere Galaxie deutlich an Größe. In dieser tiefen Aufnahme finden sich darüber hinaus bis fast zum doppelten der 240.000 Lj. schwache Galaxienausläufer, die insbesondere nördlich des Galaxienkerns mit drei kleinen Begleitgalaxien in Wechselwirkung treten.
