Remarks:

NGC 6951 (identical to NGC 6952) is a Hubble-type SBbc active nucleus barred spiral galaxy. It appears to be surrounded by brownish clouds, which are actually much closer to the viewer than the galaxy. The distance from NGC 6951 to Earth is estimated at around 73 million light-years, but the brownish clouds (galactic cirrus, molecular clouds that are diffusely illuminated by the Milky Way) are "only" a few tens of thousands of light-years apart.

Bemerkungen:

NGC 6951 (identisch mit NGC 6952) ist eine Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit aktivem Galaxienkern vom Hubble-Typ SBbc . Sie ist scheinbar umgeben von bräunlichen Wolken, die aber tatsächlich viel näher beim Betrachter liegen, als die Galaxie. Der Abstand von NGC 6951 zur Erde wird mit ca. 73 Millionen Lichtjahren beziffert, die bräunlichen Wolken (galaktischer Zirrus, Molekülwolken, die von der Milchstraße diffus beleuchtet werden) haben aber „lediglich“ einen Abstand von einigen zig Tausend Lichtjahren.
