The upper left galaxy is the huge edge on galaxy NGC 5907, the barred spiral at the lower right corner of the image is NGC 5905. A detailed view of NGC 5905 and NGC 5908 (which is just outside this image) including a dense background galaxy cluster can be found at this web page of Wolfgang Ries. A secondary focus image of NGC 5907 done with Ganymed can be found here, a primary focus image here. DDP and unsharp masking were used for the central parts of the galaxies. |
