Remarks: |
The spiral
structure in NGC 2997 is of the grand design type, the same as in
M 91, but with much more brightness. The inner disk is covered with
two
dust lanes, silhouetted against the central part of
the galaxy, which shows a high surface brightness. Many HII-regions exist in the two luminous arms. |
