The framing of this picture is quiet odd, but we hoped for some additional nebula features in the frame, slightly offset to the main object. But except for one small galaxy (USNOA2 1575-04665955) there is nothing particular spectacular visible. vdB141 is most famous for its ghostly appearance (we show the picture North down, so the ghosts are visible better). But the most interresting part of the image is the Bok Globule CB 230 (L1177) which contains a low mass star forming core. You can clearly see its bipolar nature as a comet like tail (notice the very dim counter part). |

Der Bildausschnitt dieser Aufnahme ist etwas versetzt. Wir hatten gehofft noch interessante Nebelbereiche etwas abseits des Hauptobjektes zu finden. Aber außer einer kleinen Galaxie (USNOA2 1575-04665955) ist dort nichts sonderlich Interessantes in Sicht. vdB141 ist wegen seiner markanten Figuren bekannt als Geisternebel (wir zeigen das Bild mit Norden unten, damit die Geister schöner sichtbar werden). Der interessanteste Teil des Bildes dürfte aber die Bok -Globule CB 230 (L1177) sein, eine massenarme Sternentstehungsregion. Man erkennt deutlich eine bipolare Struktur in Form einer kometenartigen Fahne (der Gegenpart zeichnet sich schwach aber sichtbar entgegengesetzt ab). |
