| Remarks: |
The image shows the emission nebula Sh2-140. The emission is caused by the radiation of young stars in the star cluster Pismis-Moreno1. A bow shock (bright rim) is formed due to the radiation towards the dark nebula LDN1204. This dark nebula divides Sh2-140 from Sh2-145 which can partly be seen in the upper left corner of the image. The small blue reflection nebula on the right side of the image is catalouged as GN 22 12.3. |

Das Bild zeigt den Emissionsnebel Sh2-140. Die Emission entsteht durch Strahlung der jungen Sterne im Sternhaufen Pismis-Moreno1. Durch das Auftreffen der Strahlung auf den Dunkelnebel LDN1204 entstand eine Bugstoßwelle die zu einem „Bright-Rim“ führt. Der Dunkelnebel trennt Sh2-140 von Sh2-145 deren Ausläufer im linken oberen Bildrand sichtbar sind. Der kleine blaue Reflexionsnebel auf der rechten Seite ist als GN 22 12.3. katalogisiert. |
