Remarks: |
Sh2-113 and Sh2-114 form these beautiful filaments, which are reminiscent of
a flying dragon. One might assume this could be a supernova remnant, but
this is not the case. What exactly forms these nebulae is not entirely
clear, but probably stellar winds cause these structures. In fact, numerous
such filamentary hydrogen nebulae can be found southeast of the North
American Nebula, and a similar phenomenon can also be observed north-east of
the NGC 7000 region. A secondary focus version of the center of the Flying Dragon Nebula can be found here. A 200% version of the Planetary Nebula K26 (Kronenberger 26), visible near the upper edge of the image at 3/4 width, can be found here. |

Bemerkungen: |
Sh2-113 und Sh2-114 formen diese schönen Filamente, die
an einen fliegenden Drachen erinnern. Schnell könnte man vermuten, dass es
sich hierbei um einen Supernova Überrest handeln könnte, jedoch ist das
nicht der Fall. Was genau diese Nebel formt, ist nicht ganz klar, vermutlich
sind es Sternwinde, die diese Strukturen verursachen. Tatsächlich findet man
südöstliche des Nordamerikanebels zahlreiche solcher filamentartigen
Wasserstoff Nebel, und auch Nord östlich der NGC 7000 Region kann man ein
ähnliches Phänomen beobachten. |
