NGC 3293 is the open cluster at the top of the image, NGC 3324 the emission/reflection nebula at the bottom. Below you can find a cropped version of NGC 3324 in original resolution. Its simmilarity with one of the to photographers can not be denyed ;-) . But Stefan seems to be not the only one, who looks like this nebula. The Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral gave this nebula its name (see here for explanation). To be honest: the similarity between Mrs. Mistral and Stefan is not so high ;-) CCDSharp and DDP were used. |

NGC 3293 ist der offene Sternhaufen am oberen Bildrand, NGC 3324 der Emissions/Reflexionsnebel am unteren. Unten befindet sich ein Ausschnitt von NGC3324 in Original-Auflösung. Seine Ähnlichkeit mit einem der beiden Photographen lässt sich nicht leugnen ;-) . Aber Stefan scheint nicht der einzige zu sein, der aussieht, wie dieser Nebel. Die Nobelpreisträgerin Gabriela Mistral gab diesem Nebel ihren Namen (hier nähere Erläuterungen. Um ehrlich zu sein: die Ähnlichkeit zwischen Frau Mistral und Stefan ist nicht so groß ;-) CCDSharp und DDP wurden benutzt. |
