Remarks:

LBN 420 is one of them—specifically, the 420th entry out of 1,125 in Beverly Lynd's 1965 “Catalogue of Bright Nebulae”. The catalog includes as No. 974 long-known and bright nebulae, such as the Orion Nebula, but also very faint objects compiled in this catalog for the first time. And not infrequently, these are sharply defined structures of the Galactic Cirrus, of which LBN 420 is a good example.

Der Katalog enthält als Nr. 974 lang bekannte und helle Nebel, wie den Orionnebel, aber auch sehr schwache und in diesem Katalog erstmals zusammengestellte Objekte. Und nicht selten sind das scharf abgrenzbare Strukturen des Galaktischen Zirrus, wofür LBN 420 ein gutes Beispiel ist.
