| Remarks: |
The picture shows the region between the two upper belt stars of Orion (Delta and Epsilon Orionis). These two stars (1.6 and 2.4 mag) scatter slightly into the picture from below and from right and are responsible for the bluish brightening at the bottom and right edge. The "slug nebula" lower right is IC 423, above IC 424 is located. Upper left IC 426 can be seen. Incidentally, in contrast to IC 424 and IC 426, IC 423 is traded as an emission nebula and not as a reflection nebula, which is doubtful due to the colors visible in the image. |

Das Bild zeigt die Region zwischen den beiden oberen Gürtelsternen des Orion (Delta und Epsilon Orionis). Diese beiden Sterne (1,6 und 2,4 mag) streuen leicht von unten bzw. rechts in das Bild und sind für die bläulichen Aufhellungen am unteren und rechten Rand verantwortlich. Der "Nacktschneckennebel" unten rechts ist IC 423, darüber befindet sich IC 424, links oben IC 426. IC 423 wird übrigens im Gegensatz zu IC 424 und IC 426 als Emmisions- und nicht als Reflexionsnebel gehandelt, was aber aufgrund der hier zu sehenden Farben bezweifelt werden darf. |
