The HII-Region visible on this image belongs to the far branches of IC 4628. We got attention to it from the Atlas of Galactic Nebulae (Neckel, Th., Vehrenberg, H. 1985: Atlas Galaktischer Nebel Teil I to III, Teil III Page 149, lower left.). To find this fairly unknown area, here some infos: The left one of the two brightest stars in the image is SAO 227388, the right one is SAO 227391, the shown area is located about 49' north of NGC 6231. Image processed with CCD-Sharp and digital development (DDP). |

Die auf dem Bild zu sehende HII-Region gehört zu den weiten Ausläufern von IC 4628. Aufmerksam wurden wir auf sie durch den Atlas galaktischer Nebel (Neckel, Th., Vehrenberg, H. 1985: Atlas Galaktischer Nebel Teil I bis III, Teil III Seite 149 l.u.). Um das Auffinden dieses recht unbekannten Gebietes etwas zu vereinfachen, hier einige Infos: Der linke der beiden hellsten Sterne im Bild trägt die SAO-Nummer 227388, der rechte die SAO-Nummer 227391, der gezeigte Himmelsausschnitt befindet sich ca. 49' nördlich von NGC 6231. Das Bild wurde mit Hilfe von CCD-Sharp und "digital development" (DDP) bearbeitet. |
